Ok, i think i have a nice place you may want to consider: Cuba. However, this really depends if you are American, Canadian or a different nationality. Americans are technically allowed to travel to Cuba, however, they aren't allowed to spend money. I know, its a bit confusing, however just look at the link i provided.

Anyway, some interesting facts you may want to know. Did you know Cuba has the lowest crime rate in the Western Hemisphere! You'll be surprised by the visible police presence there. They are specifically there to protect and help tourists.

"Cuban doctors are known throughout Latin America as the best trained doctors in the region. However, they do lack many of the bare necessities that we expect. "Tourist Pharmacies" DO stock many prescription drugs. Nevertheless, I suggest bringing with you antibiotics, aspirin, band-aids, anything you may need for personal hygiene, etc. just in case. Besides, they make great gifts for the Cubans when you leave."

Be aware of your belongings in cities like Havana and Santiago de Cuba. Crime is increasing here since the last year ...

So if i had to suggest somewhere, maybe stay somewhere more south of Santiago de Cuba and Havana. Holguin is a great place and there are many nice resorts around that area that provide excellent staff to make sure you have a wonderful, pleasent and safe stay! I've included a link to a resort i stayed at a couple years ago. It's a four start hotel, Sol Río De Luna y Mares, and was fantastic. If you have any more questions feel free to contact me.

Come to Italy. Italians adore children, especially babies and will go out of their way to help couples. There are even some organizations who will help you out for a "family hotel" or "private flat" (I'm quoting one for you).
Italy is certainly not the Tropics, but I don't believe it wise to take a baby to countries where it might catch something. Wait a few years then you can go tropical again.
Weather is ideal from Spring (April) to Fall (October).
